Northern Ireland Scouts Represent at UK Ceremony
On 5th September, young people from Scouts NI had the exciting honour of representing Northern Ireland at the investiture of the new UK Chief Scout, Dwayne Fields, at Scout Park in London. Cara Allsop and Pamela Emerson from Scrabo Explorers, Newtownards, along with Donald and Brody MacVicar from Copeland Explorers, Donaghadee, were specially chosen to attend this significant and important event.
Cara shared her thoughts:
I had an amazing time at Scout Park for the investiture of the new UK Chief Scout, Dwayne Fields. I attended with Pamela, Donald, and Brody, and we enjoyed classic Scout activities like archery, axe throwing, campfires, and climbing. I also learnt how to do paracording!
After Dwayne’s investiture, I even got my Northern Ireland scarf signed by him! I was also invested into Scrabo Explorers while there, which made it even more special. This experience meant a lot to me, as I made new friends and created memories that will last a lifetime.
Stephen Donaldson, our Chief Volunteer, was also present to support our young people.
Dwayne Fields, the first person of Afro-Caribbean descent to reach the North Pole, shared his inspiring message about inclusivity, adventure, and making a positive difference. His investiture marks an exciting new chapter for Scouts UK, and we’re proud that our young people were part of it.
We wan to say another big thank you to Cara, Pamela, Donald, and Brody for proudly representing us and showing what it means to be a Scout – always ready for adventure, making new friends, and gaining #SkillsForLife
