Autism Toolkit

Autism Toolkit

Scouts NI is delighted to present to you our Autism Toolkit.  This was created in conjunction with Colin Millar MBE, Boys’ Brigade NI and Autism NI and it will be a very useful tool, helping you make appropriate adjustments to your programme enabling children and young people with Autism and other additional needs to be fully engaged members of Scouts NI.

These suggestions and worksheets can be used for any young person, whether they have an additional need, a challenging behaviour, or you just want to find out as much as you can about your young people.  These resources and strategies work well with all your young people, and they are designed to facilitate communication with parents/guardians, including enabling them to feel comfortable disclosing a diagnosis of Autism and other additional needs.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
