Could you spend a night without a tent?
Most camps start with putting one up. This one doesn’t.
This November, Scouts and Explorers will spend the night at Crawfordsburn Activity Centre, sleeping in emergency shelters instead of tents.
Working with Simon Community NI, they’ll listen, ask questions and get stuck into activities exploring homelessness and the challenges people can face when they don’t have a place to call home.
Along the way, young people will make friends from across Northern Ireland and earn an event badge. Supper and breakfast will be prepared by our two Northern Ireland teams heading to the 26th World Scout Jamboree: The Buck Eejits and ’Bout Ye Buoys.
It’s a Nights Away experience that’s a little different. One that gets young people thinking, starts important conversations and shows how we can all play our part in helping others.
- Cost: £15 per person, including leaders
- Time: 7pm Friday to 10am Saturday
- Included: Activities, an event badge, supper and breakfast
Part of every event fee will be donated to Simon Community NI. We’re also asking each person attending to bring one item for Simon Community NI’s Home Packs. More information will be sent to the leader who makes the booking.
