Scouting has one core purpose: delivering a high-quality programme for young people through strong, effective leadership.
Connect26 is Scouts NI’s first leadership conference, bringing together volunteers from across Northern Ireland to connect, learn and prepare for the future of Scouting.
Our focus for 2026–27 is simple:
- Connect – Bringing people together with purpose.
- Engage – Inspiring meaningful involvement and support.
- Grow – Expanding together in knowledge, confidence and delivery.
Day 1 – Saturday 24 October
Audience: District representatives, Team NI, NI Staff, NILT and Scouts UK guests.
A day of keynote sessions, workshops and discussion focused on:
- Safe Scouting
- Strategy in practice
- Inclusive Scouting
- Quality programme delivery
- Supporting volunteers
- Difficult conversations
- Youth-shaped Scouting and leadership
Day 2 – Sunday 25 October
Audience: District Lead Volunteers, Volunteer Development Team Leads, Adventure Team members, Permit Assessors, NILT and Scouts UK guests.
Focused sessions including:
- Safeguarding Masterclass with Scouts UK
- Building confidence in safeguarding processes
- Safe Scouting and adventure delivery
- Permit Review updates and best practice
