Lagan District Raises £650 Through Rock Red Sleepover

Date: 1st Apr 2026 Author: Phoebe McDowell

We’re proud to share some brilliant news from Lagan District, where a number of our local Groups recently teamed up for a fun‑filled Rock Red Fundraiser Sleepover in support of Children’s Heartbeat Trust.

Thanks to the generosity of families across the District, and the sheer enthusiasm of the young people who took part, we’ve raised an amazing £650 for this fantastic charity. It’s a total that shows the power of coming together, playing your part and doing a little good along the way.

The Beavers involved packed plenty into their overnight adventure. They got moving with heart‑rate challenges and relay games, got creative with crafts, tested their knowledge in a quiz and finished the evening toasting marshmallows around the campfire before settling down for a movie night.

The next morning began with breakfast and cartoons, followed by a nature walk and some quiet time around the fire to reflect on the weekend. It was relaxed and full of laughter.

This event showed Scouting at its best – learning by doing, looking out for each other and having heaps of fun along the way. It was a simple idea that made a real difference, helping young people understand the impact they can have when they join in and give back.

A huge well done to every Group involved, every young person who joined the adventure and every volunteer and caregiver who helped make it happen.
