Resonate Space Challenge – Mission Accomplished
It was a great pleasure to represent Scouts NI at the Resonate Space Challenge at the Resonate Testing Facility in Newry. Teams from across the Island of Ireland applied, and today, the six finalists: Kestrel Patrol (81st Belfast), Space Janitors (4th Tyrone), Celestial Sea Scouts (63rd Dublin), Search & Rescue (1st Castlerock), and Cahir Constellations (7th Tipperary) – along with the Dragons’ Den winners Space 63 (63rd Dublin), were given the opportunity to boldly go where no Scout had gone before. All the winning satellites were put to the test – taking them to infinity and beyond – and (mostly) survived the rigorous challenges!
A huge thank you to Resonate Managing Director Tom Mallon and the entire team at Resonate Testing, especially Chief Engineer Conor, for running the tests. Special mention also to Scouts NI’s own Ian Stewart, who, along with Tom, conceived, designed, and developed the entire programme.
What a fantastic day! Our journey into space was enjoyed by all involved and provided a fantastic opportunity for Scouts NI and Scouting Ireland to collaborate on this exciting project. It’s moments like this that bring us together in the spirit of Scouting, fellowship, and fun.
