GNT Funding opens soon – Get ready to apply
Every year, the Generic Non‑Targeted (GNT) funding gives Scout Groups registered with EA a chance to get real support for the programme you’re delivering in your local communities. It’s nearly that time again, so now’s the perfect moment to get prepared.
This funding is based on what you deliver and who takes part, so having your information organised early will make applying much easier.
Key dates
- Applications open: Monday 13 April 2026
- Applications close: Friday 22 May 2026
We want every eligible Group to feel confident applying. That’s why we’re running a practical, step‑by‑step workshop to help you get everything sorted – from registration to reporting.
Funding Application Workshop
- When: Thursday 16 April, 7:30pm
- Where: Teams (Online) Click here to sign up
We’ll walk through:
- what EA are looking for
- how to complete your application
- what information you’ll need about your young people
- how to use the Engagement Framework and Reflective Tool
Preparing your information
Part of the GNT process involves categorising young people based on their level of engagement. To help you collect this consistently, we’ve included two key resources:
Engagement Framework Poster (view here)
These tools make it easier to capture what young people are doing, how often they’re taking part, and the impact your programme is having.
Next steps
- Put the workshop date in your diary.
- Register to attend using the link above.
- Download and review the Engagement Framework and Reflective Tool.
We’ll share a follow‑up article on 13 April when applications officially open, along with direct access to the EA application portal.
Let’s make sure every group in Northern Ireland has the best chance to secure this support – you’re doing amazing things week after week, and this funding can help keep that going!
