Thinking Big at the Cub Quiz Finals
Seventeen Cub Packs from across Northern Ireland came together for this year’s NI Cub Quiz Finals, filling the room with quick thinking, big smiles and plenty of teamwork.
Cubs travelled from right across the province, including Ballymoney, Bangor, Bovevagh, Belfast, Coleraine, Comber Inler, Derryloran, Hillhall, Hillsborough, Lambeg, Newtownards and Killymurris. Every team arrived ready to give it a go and put their knowledge to the test.
Across seven rounds of questions, expertly put together by Paul and Stephanie Meikle, Cubs worked together, shared ideas and gave every challenge their best shot! A brilliant team of volunteers – Joy G, Joy M, Phil, Ben, Jean, Joanne and Ryan – helped the day run smoothly from start to finish.
Events like this only happen because volunteers step forward, share their time and help young people shine. A huge thank you to everyone involved.
Some teams held onto their joker round right until the end, and for a few, that final leap made all the difference.
Results
- 1st Place: 4th Bangor Bears
- Joint 2nd Place: 1st Coleraine and 1st Comber
- 3rd Place: 1st Hillhall
The NI Cub Quiz Finals take place each spring, with teams qualifying through District competitions. It’s another great chance for Cubs to meet others from their area and make new connections.
What’s next for NI Cubs?
CubJam 110 is just around the corner. Running from 22–24 May at Crawfordsburn Activity Centre, it’s shaping up to be a big weekend of activities, badge opportunities, camping, adventure and new friendships. This year we’re also welcoming international Cubs, making an already special event even more memorable.
