Celebrating our Volunteers at Cultra

Date: 1st Oct 2024 Author: Phoebe McDowell

On Sunday, we hosted our final Thank You event at the beautiful Cultra Manor, bringing together just under 100 volunteers. This informal gathering was a way for us to express our immense gratitude for the hard work and dedication of our volunteers over the past year.

Our staff team organised and welcomed everyone at reception, followed by a warm welcome speech from Barbara Edgar, Chair of the People Sub-Group. Our new Chief Volunteer, Stephen Bell, also shared his gratitude and some inspiring words.

Attendees enjoyed a casual lunch and social time in a beautiful setting, reflecting on the incredible achievements of our community. As a token of our appreciation, each guest received a branded chocolate lollipop, a thank-you card, and a thank-you blanket badge. The event was made even more special by a performance from the Claremont String Quartet, which featured our own volunteer, Adam McCambridge.

Thank you once again to all our volunteers for your dedication and passion. You truly embody the spirit of Scouting! We hope to do this again in the future, and to all those who couldn’t make it, we look forward to seeing you next time.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
