Bringing District Leads Together

Date: 19th Jun 2026 Author: Phoebe McDowell

On Saturday 13 June, District Lead Volunteers came together at Crawfordsburn alongside our Region Lead Volunteers. It was a great chance to bring everyone together and have open, honest conversations about where we’re heading.

A key focus was the Place to Belong strategy and how we bring it to life across Districts in Northern Ireland. There was lots of positive discussion about what this looks like locally and how it can make a real difference for volunteers and young people.

We also explored how the new Lead Volunteer roles for Programme and Volunteering can best support Districts moving forward, with clear opportunities to strengthen support and connection across Scouting.

More widely, it was a valuable opportunity to share ideas on growing engagement, with plenty of practical suggestions to take forward as we head towards the new Scouting year.

It was also fantastic to hear about the great Scouting already happening right across Northern Ireland – a real credit to all our volunteers.

Thanks to everyone who came along and played their part.
