Ballinderry’s Bridge-Building Adventure

Date: 13th Feb 2025 Author: Phoebe McDowell

Cubs from Ballinderry Scouts recently put their pioneering skills to the test, building an impressive 15-metre-long cable-stayed bridge with the help of The Big Bridge team.

The event was a fantastic opportunity for young people to develop their teamwork, problem-solving, and engineering skills in a hands-on environment. Thanks to the expert guidance from The Big Bridge team, the Cubs worked together to construct the bridge, gaining valuable experience in design, structure, and resilience along the way!

A huge thank you to Taylor & Boyd Structural and Civil Engineers for sponsoring the event, making this exciting challenge possible. Their support ensured that our young people could take part in this experience, inspiring the next generation of engineers and innovators.

Scouting is all about adventure, learning new skills, and working together – and this event was a perfect example of that in action.

Well done to everyone who took part!
