Making an Impact, One Bag at a Time

Recently, young people from 1st Greenisland Scout Group took action in their local community as part of their annual collaboration with the Eco Rangers in Carrickfergus. From our youngest Squirrels to our experienced Scouts, every section was proudly represented – and together, they made a huge difference!

Armed with gloves, litter pickers, and a healthy dose of determination, the group collected an impressive 19 bags of rubbish in under two hours, helping to keep the town’s public spaces clean and green.

But it wasn’t just about tidying up. This was real, hands-on work towards their Community Impact badges, putting into practice everything Scouting stands for teamwork, responsibility, and making a difference where it matters most.

Group leaders praised the enthusiasm and energy of the young people involved, many of whom said they enjoyed the activity and felt proud of what they had achieved.

A big well done to everyone involved for showing that when Scouts come together, great things happen.
