Beavers bring the fun to Rally day
Beaver Scouts from across Northern Ireland came together for a day packed with adventure, friendship and fun at Beaver Rally Day, held on Saturday 16 May at Crawfordsburn Activity Centre.
From the moment they arrived, Beavers were straight into the action. Whether it was racing down the grass sledging track, tackling the climbing wall, building sky-high towers with crate stacking or trying their hand at bushcraft, there was something for everyone to enjoy. They even gave soft tomahawk throwing a go and got creative with crafts, while a visit from W5 added something extra special to the day.
One of the highlights for many was gathering around the campfire. With s’mores in hand and friends all around, it was a chance to slow down, share stories and enjoy being outdoors together.
Beavers and volunteers travelled by car, train and coach to be there. They arrived full of excitement and left with smiles, new friendships and plenty of stories to tell. Throughout the day, there was a real buzz!
Days like this show what Scouts is all about. It’s a chance for young people to try new things, work together and feel part of something bigger – a place where they can be themselves, have fun and belong.
A huge thank you goes to Hydra Explorers and the Jamboree 2027 participants for making the day happen. Their energy and support helped everything run smoothly. Special thanks also to the brilliant staff and wardens at Crawfordsburn Activity Centre for their continued support and enthusiasm.
Thanks to everyone involved, this year’s Beaver Rally Day was one to remember.
