Giving thanks on Founder’s Day
This Founder’s Day, Scouts from across the UK gathered at Westminster Abbey for a day of reflection and thanksgiving.
Stephen Bell, NI Chief Volunteer, attended the wreath laying service and laid a wreath on behalf of Scouts NI.
Reflecting on the day, Stephen said it was “great to see so many there” and a reminder of the impact Scouting continues to have across communities.
Later, Lead Volunteers and award recipients came together for a thanksgiving service. Those attending included recipients of the Silver Acorn, Bar to the Silver Acorn and Silver Wolf awards.
“It was a great day,” Stephen shared. “It was fantastic to see leaders coming together to give thanks to the movement and celebrate together.”
The day marked an opportunity to pause, reflect and recognise the contribution volunteers make to Scouting every week.
