From Ards to the Alps

Date: 10th Oct 2025 Author: Phoebe McDowell

2nd Ards have returned from an unforgettable nine-day adventure at the Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland.

From rock climbing to white water rafting, and even a visit to the breathtaking Jungfrau Joch, the Scouts threw themselves into every challenge that came their way – showing real determination and a sense of adventure throughout.

The group also joined in with the National Swiss Day celebrations, where one of our Scouts proudly carried the beacon and represented NI in the parade – a once-in-a-lifetime moment!

Along the way, they met Scouts from all over the world, swapping scarves, badges and stories around the campfire. Friendships were formed that will last well beyond their time in Switzerland, with many already keeping in touch on social media.

What a brilliant example of friendship, adventure and skills for life in action. Well done, 2nd Ards!
