On 5th September, we had the honour of attending the investiture ceremony for the new Chief Scout, Dwayne Fields, at Scout Park in London. Representatives from Scouts NI, including Cara Allsop and Pamela Emerson of Scrabo Explorers, Newtownards, and Brody and Donald MacVicar of Copeland Explorers, Donaghadee, were among those invited to this special event. They described the experience as truly unforgettable, enjoying a range of activities, a campfire gathering, and the opportunity to meet Scouts from across the UK and beyond. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for Scouts to connect, exchange ideas, and forge new friendships.

Dwayne Fields, the first person of Afro-Caribbean descent to reach the North Pole, is celebrated for his adventurous spirit and dedication to empowering young people. His appointment as Chief Scout marks an exciting new chapter for Scouts UK, with a renewed focus on inclusivity, outdoor exploration, and community service. We all extend our best wishes to Dwayne Fields as he inspires young people across the UK to connect with nature, develop valuable skills, and make a positive impact in their communities!

Special thanks to our representatives for their role in this memorable event.
