From a small cohort from Northern Ireland to now a project known by the whole movement, transformation is gaining traction, especially as we approach the time to embed ourselves into the new membership system. Across Northern Ireland, Counties within Northern Ireland have been working with Districts to support them on onboarding the different aspects of the overall project and we have come so far already!
What are we asking Districts to do?
Sadly, time is not our friend in relation to the turnaround of this work and so we are working hard in the background with the Team at NI and District Teams to ensure that steps are taken to embed transformation into our progresses to maximise long-term impact.
Below, we have provided our two main sprints that we believe are vital to focus on at present.
Sprint 1 – Summer 2024
Trustee Boards: With it being AGM season, we are asking District Leads to ensure that the District and their Groups have adopted Chapter 5 of POR to reflect the new constitutional framework.
Compass Cleanse: As a Northern Ireland cohort, we want to be ready for the new membership system and to do that, we want to make sure that our data is right on Compass to minimise any potential hiccups or unnecessary hurdles. Districts should be looking to cleanse the data and also reduce pre-provisional and provisional volunteers.
Welcome Conversations: We want to ensure that those who will be supporting the Welcome Conversations are in place and know of what we need from them. Make sure that they have agreed to undertake the new style of learning that will be shared soon.
Sprint 2 – Autumn 2024
Learning: With the foundations in place, this should make life easier to identify those who are ready to complete their Woodbadge within the short time frame, or those who require their Woodbadge to be added to Compass.
Getting Started Modules: Maintaining compliance is vital as we look to reduce hiccups across the system. Please ensure that all those who will be non-compliant between September and January 2025 are given advance warning.
Welcome Conversations: We will be given the green light within Sprint Two for all of Northern Ireland to advance with the Welcome Conversations. It will be vital that we will have Group Lead Volunteers and the Welcoming Team with their validated training in place in advance of this.
Digital Membership System: Assurances of Northern Ireland’s ready status to the UK will be prepared in Autumn 2024.
Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers, and it's for everyone. We go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. We make friends, have fun, play games, and work in teams.
