Workforce Development Strategy 2022 Review

Date: 30th Sep 2022 Author: Pamela Hale

The Scouts NI Workforce Development Strategy was reviewed and updated in Summer 2022 thanks to the feedback you provided in the Training Needs Analysis.  We would encourage you to read this review below.  It helps us to define the skills and capabilities needed for our future vision and objectives, which are outlined as:

  • Grow
  • Become more inclusive
  • Be more youth shaped
  • Impact our communities

At Scouts NI we want to support the recruitment, development and retention of volunteer leaders, assist with succession planning and recognise the contribution that volunteer leaders make in local communities.  The Workforce Development Strategy helps us achieve these targets; we have looked in-depth at our Volunteer Leaders and Staff Team, what training is currently offered, how it is currently offered and what support is in place.

We want to capture the training needs of you, our volunteers, and continue to develop the strategy so that we have an effective workforce.

Workforce Development Strategy – Review 2022

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
