NIEX 2026 – A Lake District adventure to remember
The Lake District was the backdrop for this summer’s NIEX Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and King’s Scout Award expedition.
As part of the expedition, participants created a video diary to share their experience and offer a glimpse into what taking on a Gold DofE expedition is all about.
Reflecting on the adventure, participant Aidan Devine described it as “such an amazing experience” and paid tribute to the people who made it memorable.
“I couldn’t have done it without such an amazing team.”
Aidan thanked fellow participants Jonathan Donald, Lauren Graham-Hollywood, Joshua Thompson and Devyn Henderson, as well as Andrew Stacey and the wider supervision team for their support throughout the expedition.
A second participant-created video also recognised the leaders, assessors and fellow expedition members who helped make NIEX2026 possible.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in supporting the expedition and congratulations to all those who took part.
