January NIA Youth Events

Date: 17th Dec 2021 Author: Michael Croft

There are a number of youth events in the first few weeks of the new year relating to Bills in the Committee stage of the Northern Ireland Assembly prior to the end of this mandate (i.e before the upcoming 2022 election).

We wish to invite young people to join us virtually at these events, sharing their views on these bills and associated issues.  We are seeking young people between the ages of 16 and 25. Please see a list of upcoming events below:

  • Thursday 6 January:  Committee for Health: Children and Adoption Bill – young people who have experienced care and/or adoption
  • Thursday 13 January: Committee for Education: Period Products (Free Provision) Bill. The associate survey also currently available to complete by all at: https://consult.nia-yourassembly.org.uk/education/periodproducts/
  • Wednesday 19 January: Committee for Communities: Betting, Gaming, Lotteries and Amusements (Amendment) Bill.

If you would be interested in joining any of these, please email Michael with how many young people you want to join these events and which event you would like to join virtually.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
