Crawfordsburn Scout Centre, Virtual Camp, 17th -19th July 2020.

Date: 25th Jun 2020 Author: Pamela Hale

Hi Leaders

Crawfordsburn Scout Centre is running a virtual camp on the weekend of the 17th -19th July 2020.

The camp will be split into different subcamps, each being a different section in Scouting. This means that each Section will have a separate subcamp (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network) so the program and challenges during the days of the weekend will be related to your particular section.

We know that our members have been hit by the situation that we find ourselves in with no clubs, sports, meeting friends and no face to face Scouting since late March so we wanted to give them something fun to do over the summer period.

The programme for the camp will be run from Crawfordsburn Facebook page and the Network members can log in at different times to see what is happening and what challenges they can do. We will be trying to make this camp as virtually realistic as possible.  https://www.facebook.com/CrawfordsburnScoutCentre

All you need to do is complete the registration form (see link below) and add the number of young people and leaders that will be attending from your group and press submit. We will then send you out some joining instructions and more information about the camp.

Please note if your Leaders team can’t make it to the camp don’t worry as the young people members can access the camp themselves. Don’t forget that family and friends are welcome to join the fun too.

We are also looking at running a competition before the camp to get a name for each subcamp so if you could run a challenge with your group to get the best suggestion and then send it to us at info.crawfordsburn@scoutsni.org and we will collect all the suggestions and select one out of a hat about a week before the camp.

Yours in Scouting
