Go Live Team – Scouts NI

Before, during and after the Go-Live of the new digital system, Scouts UK will be running online training sessions to help you understand our new ways of volunteering, and how you’ll use the new digital system. We strongly recommend that all members attend one Part 1 session, and that Lead Volunteers, Team Leaders, Chairs and volunteers who’ll hold Accreditations also attend one Part 2 session.

We are so close to going live on the new membership system, and we want to ensure that we provide a smooth and effective transition once we get the green light.  To support the process, we have outlined what is required once we go live;

  • You will need to register for the new system once you receive the email from UK Scouts indicating the system is live for you.
  • If you do not receive an email by the end of the first week of December, you will need to let us know in order to fix this issue.

It’s important to remember that we will become reliant on the new membership system, as it will become a key part of our scouting experience. You will need it to:

  • Check/update your personal details.
  • Access learning courses and allow for automated validation.
  • Submit paperwork for activities and camps e.g. permit requests, risk assessments, NANs etc.

Our processes are changing, and so it’s important that we know more about the digital tools. Please see the video below which will showcase how the new system will be used and integrated as we move forward.

We have identified local Go-Live Teams across Northern Ireland to ensure that we can support locally, as well as the functionality to monitor trends at a national level. We ask that all questions, concerns or issues are raised to us via digitalphase@scoutsni.org or via the e-form below. Once we receive a submission, we will flag this with the local Go-Live Team and follow-up as soon as possible to provide information, assistance or assurance.

If you are a District Lead Volunteer, we would ask you to consider the following:

  • Confirm who is in your District Teams (i.e. who will be your Programme Lead; Volunteer Development Lead; Support Lead; District Welcome Conversation Volunteers etc.)
  • Confirm who will require accreditations (i.e. for your Leadership Team; Volunteer Development Team; Programme Team; and Support Team).
  • Ensure that everyone within your District is aware of the digitalphase@scoutsni.org email address for support.
  • Be ready from the 28 November, as you will attain access earlier than others to ensure accreditations are in place.
HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
