Skill Based Activities

Crawfordsburn has a number of activates that challenge the mind as much as the body.

Many may prove to be a brand new experience for the participants and they are great for groups of mixed ability and can be worked into various educational and badge work criteria.

The orienteering course is contained within the site, letting the young people navigate via the course in a safe environment. This activity is ideal for all age groups and can be run as an individual competition or in teams.

Scavenger Hunts

Scavenger Hunts are another way to get your young people to explorer their surrounding and can be run both on site and throughout the country park. For those that feel that Orienteering, may be a little too advanced this proves a great introduction as it makes the participant think about their surroundings.

Create your own trebuchets, chariot, gate post for your camp or watchtower. Pioneering is the art of lashing and tying poles together to create a structure. Teach your young people new skills or hone old ones. Pioneering is a great as participants see real results from their own handiwork. We also offer Bamboo Pioneering, for our younger visitors, allowing them to experience the challenges of creating their own bamboo structures.

Let your young people enter another world through pond dipping, they will explore what is on top, around and beneath the water. This is a fun and exciting activity as you never quiet know what you are going to find.
